At a recent lecture I mentioned that the Lake Erie North Shore region puts out better reds than they do whites - sure it's a broad statement and I hate to generalize, but for the most part I find that to be true. Then along comes someone like the folks at Smith & Wilson with a delicious, delicate Sauvignon Blanc and I have to re-think my generalities. Light and tropical nose with melon notes on both the nose and mid-palate, but there's also a delightful citrus (sweet grapefruit) back end that'll keep you sipping. Price: $14.00 - Rating: ****
