If you haven’t already done so, check out the review of the Henry of Pelham Brut (white) and you’ll know that Henry of Pelham’s sparkling wines are the pinnacle of what Ontario sparklers should and can be. This Rosé is a beautiful expression of an apparent off-dry wine. I say apparent because “Brut” by definition means dry, but with a touch of raspberry and lemon on the nose, and a taste loaded with strawberries and raspberries there seems to be some sweetness here … maybe its just the appearance (lovely pinky-peach colour) or the smell and taste (all that red fruit) that fools the brain into believing in the presence of sweetness. Like your brut brutier, then check out the Cuvee Brut (white).
